Bob Frid-USA TODAY Sports - Jan Jeník Reportedly Seeking Trade From Coyotes

The Arizona Coyotes right winger Jan Jeník is reportedly seeking a change of scenery according to PHNX Sports’ Craig Morgan.

The 22-year-old was drafted by the Coyotes with the 65th overall pick in the 2018 NHL Draft. Over the past couple of seasons, Jeník has mostly played with the Coyotes AHL affiliate the Tucson Roadrunners.

This past season, Jeník had seven goals, 16 assists and 23 points in 30 games with the Roadrunners. He only played a total of two games for the Coyotes last year failing to record any points.

Jeník received a qualifying offer from Arizona back in July but he rejected it giving him a few options including sitting out, hoping another NHL team gives him an offer sheet or even leave the NHL to play in Europe.

Morgan reports that the Coyotes “seem content to let Jeník sit,” with little leverage as an RFA.

The season is vastly approaching so it should be interesting to see how everything with Jeník and the Coyotes unfolds.
