The Doan family legacy continues in Arizona as Josh Doan scored a hat trick in the Coyotes 5-1 preseason win against the St. Louis Blues on Saturday night.
From the success of Doan at Arizona State University on top of his father Shane Doan’s impact as the Coyotes captain, all eyes were on Josh going into training camp.
So far the 21-year-old has not disappointed. Josh was phenomenal at the Rookie Faceoff last weekend tallying four goals, three assists and seven points.
Not many players can say they scored a hat trick in their first NHL game but Josh can. He had a statement performance showing the Coyotes organization that he may very well be ready to make the jump into the NHL a lot sooner than expected.
It seems every year Josh continues to improve specifically on his offensive games becoming more and more of a threat to score.
While it will be an uphill battle for Josh to make the team this season, he is certainly making a case and continues to create a name for himself outside of his father’s name.
