Both Conor Geekie and Maveric Lamoureux will be competing for Team Canada at the World Junior.

These two prospects were drafted by the Coyotes in the first round of the 2022 NHL Draft.

Geekie is currently playing in the WHL for the Wenatchee Wild. The 19-year-old has been phenomenal, tallying 20 goals, 29 assists and 49 points in 26 games.

He really looks like he can be a valuable center down the road for the Coyotes and Team Canada can certainly use his excellent playmaking and high offensive upside.

Lamoureux is playing with the Drummondville Voltigeurs of the QMJHL where he serves as assistant captain. In 25 games, the 19-year-old defenceman has seven goals, 20 assists and 27 points.

The most intriguing part about Lamoureux is his frame as he stands at 6’7’’ while being able to skate and move the puck effectively.

The World Junior will be a chance for both these prospects to show Canadian and Coyotes fans what they are capable of matched up against premier young talent.

It will also help further their growth as players in their continued path to make the Coyotes roster which seems closer than many fans may actually think.
