Let's look at three takeaways from the Bruins' big win against the Panthers.

The Boston Bruins defeated the Florida Panthers in overtime by a 3-2 final score. This victory snapped their six-game losing streak, and it was a very eventful contest.

Let's discuss three takeaways from the game now.

    Jeremy Swayman Has Big Afternoon

The Panthers had far more chances than the Bruins in this contest. Had Jeremy Swayman not been on his game, it would have been another bad result for the Bruins. However, the Anchorage, Alaska native had an excellent start.

Swayman stopped 39 out of 42 Panthers shots he faced in the win. This performance was needed for the star netminder, as he lost each of his last five appearances before it.

David Pastrnak & Morgan Geekie Stay Hot

David Pastrnak had himself an excellent game, as he scored two goals, including the overtime winner, and added an assist. Morgan Geekie also stayed hot, as he had a goal and an assist.

Pastrnak is undoubtedly regaining his scoring touch, as he has six goals in his last five games. Geekie, on the other hand, now has two goals and four points in his previous five.

Bruins Avoid Another Collapse To Panthers

The Panthers certainly made this win extremely difficult for the Bruins to get. Sam Reinhart scored in the final seconds of the third period from a strange deflection to force overtime, and it felt like the Bruins would have another late collapse to the Cats.

However, Pastrnak secured the Bruins two points by scoring with 1.2 seconds left in overtime. Interestingly, his pass deflected off Reinhart.
