This Bruins prospect has earned the golden opportunity that he has been given.
The Boston Bruins made a big roster move on Saturday (Dec. 28), recalling top prospect Fabian Lysell from the Providence Bruins. With this, the 2021 first-round pick is set to get into his first regular-season action with the NHL club.
When looking at how Lysell has been playing, he has undoubtedly earned this recall. He has been on a real tear with Providence, posting two goals and seven points over his last six games. This includes scoring a goal and adding two assists in Providence's most recent contest against the Bridgeport Islanders on Dec. 27.
With the Bruins' offense needing a real jolt, it makes sense that the Bruins are giving Lysell a chance. He has been red-hot down in Providence, and he has the potential to blossom into an impactful offensive contributor at the NHL level. Now, he is getting his first real shot to try to show the Bruins that he is ready for the NHL.

Lysell has appeared in 26 games this season with Providence, posting five goals, 17 points, and a plus-4 rating. This is after he had 15 goals and 50 points in 56 games with Providence last season. It will be fascinating to see if he can translate some of this offense to the NHL level during his recall from here.
