The Athletic recently posted an article going over one player that every team should pursue this year free agency. It is a fun piece that is certainly worth reading if you are a big fan of NHL free agency.

NHL free agency 2025: One player each team should target this offseason NHL free agency 2025: One player each team should target this offseason As teams look to fill holes on their rosters, we play free agency matchmaker and list one UFA each team should target this summer.

For the Boston Bruins section of the piece, The Athletic's Fluto Shinzawa argued that the Bruins should bring in Mitch Marner to create an incredible one-two punch at right wing with him and David Pastrnak.

We here at The Hockey News Bruins have discussed Marner as a potential star free-agent target for the Original Six club. They are entering the summer with a ton of cap space and clearly need another impactful top-six winger, so a superstar like Marner would be a massive pickup for them.

Mitch Marner & 3 More Star Free Agents Bruins Could Target Mitch Marner & 3 More Star Free Agents Bruins Could Target The Boston Bruins should be looking to boost their forward group this off-season after a terrible 2024-25 season. The Original Six club is in a position to do some big spending, as they are entering the summer with plenty of cap space.

Yet, at the same time, the Bruins have other needs to address, and Marner's next contract is going to be very expensive. Thus, bringing in Marner could make it hard for the Bruins to fix their other roster problems, like the center position and the right side of their defense.

Do you think the Bruins should sign Marner? Vote in the poll and feel free to share your thoughts in the comments!
