The Chicago Blackhawks have had a tough 2024-25 season, but this was expected. They are still in the middle of their rebuild and have more work to do before they take that next step. The only NHL team with fewer points than them right now is the San Jose Sharks.

However, on Feb. 7, the Blackhawks impressively defeated the Nashville Predators 6-2. A former Boston Bruins forward was a significant factor in Chicago’s blowout win.

Ryan Donato absolutely dominated for Chicago, as the former Bruin had two goals and two primary assists on the evening. His two goals on the night were absolute beauties, too.

Donato has had a spectacular season for the Blackhawks, and this incredible performance only added to it. With this monster game, Donato now has 18 goals – a new career high – and 36 points in 52 games for Chicago this season. He also has three goals and seven points over his last three appearances.

Donato is one of the NHL’s top trade candidates as we continue to get closer to the deadline. A game like this should only lead to more teams calling.
