This former Bruins forward is reportedly starting to generate interest.

On Jan. 24, the Chicago Blackhawks traded former Boston Bruins forward Taylor Hall to the Carolina Hurricanes in the epic three-team Mikko Rantanen blockbuster trade. Now, another Bruin on the Blackhawks could be moved next.

In his most recent trade board for The Athletic, NHL insider Chris Johnston reported that former Bruins forward Ryan Donato is "starting to attract some attention on the trade market."

Donato grabbing the attention of teams is understandable. The 28-year-old forward is a pending unrestricted free agent (UFA) on a rebuilding Blackhawks club that are clear sellers. In addition, he is having a strong season with Chicago, posting 14 goals and 28 points in 46 contests thus far. 

Donato could be a solid pickup for a playoff team looking to add more offense to their bottom six. This is especially so when noting that the Boston, Massachusetts native can play both down the middle and on the wing. In addition, he could be a decent addition to a playoff team looking to improve their power play because of his offensive skill. 

It will be interesting to see what happens with Donato and the Blackhawks from here. With the Bruins needing more offensive depth, perhaps they should even consider bringing him back.
