April 23rd is a notable day in Buffalo Sabres history, as on this day in 1999, Miroslav Satan scored in double overtime to beat the Ottawa Senators and give Buffalo a 2-0 lead in the series in a four-game sweep of the Sens on their way to their first Stanley Cup Final in 24 years. 

What fans hope is more of an indicator to the current series against the Boston Bruins is back on this day in 2010, the Sabres beat the Bruins 4-1 in Game 5 of their first round series. Buffalo would lose that series in six games, but Boston would lose in the next round to Philadelphia in historic fashion, taking a 3-0 lead and losing the next four games.
