In an interview on the Cam and Strick podcast, former Buffalo Sabres winger Alex Tuch indicated that the club did step up their offer before trading him to the Washington Capitals in a sign-and-trade, but other reports said that the Sabres did not go over the $10 million AAV or the maximum eight-year term.
