The Buffalo Sabres need a bounce-back season if they have any hope of making it into the Stanley Cup playoffs next season. And if they're going to do so, they'll need to be at least as good against top teams the way they were against the Carolina Hurricanes.
The Sabres went 2-1-0 in three games against the 'Canes last season, and once again this coming year, they'll have three games against Carolina to test their mettle. But while this writer believes Buffalo has what it takes to win the series against the Hurricanes in 2025-26, it's certainly not going to be a cakewalk for the Sabres to do so.
