The injury-riddled Buffalo Sabres made it to Game 7 of the Eastern Conference Final against the Carolina Hurricanes, and led 2-1 going into the third period before the Canes scored three times to win 4-2. Carolina went on to win the Stanley Cup in seven games over Edmonton.
