The Buffalo Sabres are in their 56th season and have a storied history. The club has 15 players who have been inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame, and many others who deserve recognition. Over the next few weeks, we will look at players in Sabres history by jersey number, ranking the top three players to wear that number.
The top three who wore #15 in team history are: Gerry Meehan, Dixon Ward, and Jack Eichel:
Meehan took over as Sabres team captain in 1971 and served for four years until he was traded to Vancouver. He scored over half of his 180 career goals with Buffalo, including a career-high 31 goals in 1973. Ward was a key contributor to the Sabres 1999 Cup Final squad, scoring a career-high 20 goals. Eichel played the first three seasons of his career wearing #15, years in which he averaged 24 goals per season.
