The Buffalo Sabres are in their 56th season and have a storied history. The club has 15 players who have been inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame, and many others who deserve recognition. Over the next few weeks, we will be looking at players in Sabres history by their jersey number, ranking the top three players to wear that particular number.

The top three who wore #20 in team history are: Don Luce, Brent Peterson, and Daniel Paille

Luce was acquired from Detroit in the summer of 1971 and served as one of the finest second-line centers in the NHL behind Gilbert Perreault for the next decade and as an excellent two-way forward and penalty killer alongside Craig Ramsay. He scored 20 or more goals in six straight seasons from 1974 to 1979. Peterson was acquired in the December 1981 mega trade with the Red Wings and served as a fine defensive forward and penalty killer for four seasons. Paille was a 2002 first-round pick of the Sabres and played four seasons in Buffalo, scoring 19 goals in 2008 before being dealt to Boston in 2009, where he won a Stanley Cup in 2011.
