The Buffalo Sabres and Montreal Canadiens are likely to be fighting over the same wild card playoff berth next season -- and as part of this ongoing THN.com series, we're breaking down Buffalo's chances against every rival in the Atlantic Division, Montreal included.

Last year, the Canadiens had Buffalo's number, beating the Sabres in all four games the two teams played against each other. And now that Montreal has fortified their defense corps with the acquisition of star defenseman Noah Dobson from the New York Islanders, the Habs look to be even better heading into next season. So Buffalo has a serious challenge ahead of it in the new-look Habs.

But we want your opinion -- how will the Sabres fare against the Canadiens this coming year? And if there's only one playoff spot available between Buffalo and Montreal, which team will secure it? Be sure to leave your opinion in the comments below, and don't hesitate to sign up as a member of THN's Sabres community. Your voice counts, and we want to hear it.
