With Buffalo Sabres training camp later this month, there will be a number of stories that will provide a bit of intrigue. One that we will track here at the THN.com's Sabres site is the disposition of 22-year-old winger Isak Rosen.

Rosen is entering his fourth camp and has appeared to have proven as much as possible at the American Hockey League level, but has really not been given a legitimate NHL opportunity, in spite of the Sabres being well out of the playoff race the last two years. The 2021 first-rounder scored 20 or more goals for the second straight AHL season, led the Amerks with 55 points last year, but has only played 15 games in Buffalo and in mostly a bottom-six role.

Entering the final year of his entry-level contract, there once again does not appear to be a clear path for Rosen to make the Sabres, as his skill set does not seem to fit Lindy Ruff's definition of what a fourth-liner is, and playing in the top nine would require an incredible performance at camp. Do you think the Sabres should consider giving Rosen a legitimate chance at playing a meaningful role in their top-nine or use him as an asset in a trade?
