Buffalo Sabres prospect Konsta Helenius is expected to challenge for an NHL job this fall after an impressive showing in the AHL last season and scoring two goals against Montreal in the second round loss to the Canadiens. 

The 20-year-old indicated last week that he was heading to Switzerland to take part in the IIHF World Championships. On Thursday, Helenius scored his first goal of the tournament on a setup from Florida's Aleksander Barkov.
