On this day at the 2018 NHL Draft in Dallas, the Buffalo Sabres selected Swedish defenseman Rasmus Dahlin as the top overall selection. Dahlin, now 26 years old, is third in the 2018 class in career points behind Quinn Hughes and Brady Tkachuk with 434 points and was third in Norris Trophy voting this season.
