The Buffalo Sabres trailed the reigning Stanley Cup champion Philadelphia Flyers 2-0 in the 1975 Cup Final when the series switched to Memorial Auditorium for Games 3 and 4. On an unusually hot and humid May evening, the temperature created a think layer of fog over the ice surface.
