Who was the best #24 in Sabres history?

The Buffalo Sabres are in their 56th season and have a storied history. The club has 15 players who have been inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame, and many others who deserve recognition. Over the next few weeks, we will be looking at players in Sabres history by their jersey number, ranking the top three players to wear that particular number.
The top three who wore #24 in team history are: Bill Hajt, Taylor Pyatt, and Dylan Cozens
Hajt was a big lumbering defenseman who spent all 14 years of his career in Buffalo, and was known for his defensive abilities, especially as a penalty killer. Pyatt was a former first-round pick of the NY Islanders, who was acquired along with Tim Connolly in the Mike Peca deal in 2001. He had 140 career goals over 13 seasons with six teams. Cozens was Buffalo’s first-rounder in 2019 and played almost five seasons with the Sabres, scoring a career-high 31 goals in 2023, but was traded to Ottawa for Josh Norris last March.
