Who is the best #26 in Sabres history?

The Buffalo Sabres are in their 56th season and have a storied history. The club has 15 players who have been inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame, and many others who deserve recognition. Over the next few weeks, we will be looking at players in Sabres history by their jersey number, ranking the top three players to wear that particular number.
The top three who wore #26 in team history are: Derek Plante, Thomas Vanek, and Rasmus Dahlin.
Plante was a late-round pick of the Sabres in 1989 who reached the NHL in 1993. He played six seasons with Buffalo and scored 20 or more goals three times, and scored an overtime goal in Game 7 of the first round in 1997 against Ottawa. Vanek was a top five pick of the Sabres in 2003, was a big part of their two Eastern Conference final squads in 2006 and 2007, and in eight seasons in Buffalo, scored 20 goals or more every season. Dahlin was the top overall pick in the 2018 NHL Draft and in his eighth season with Buffalo is second to Phil Housley in career points as a defenseman in club history with 408 points.
