The Buffalo Sabres are in their 56th season and have a storied history. The club has 15 players who have been inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame, and many others who deserve recognition. Over the next few weeks, we will be looking at players in Sabres history by their jersey number, ranking the top three players to wear that particular number.
The top three who wore #32 in team history are: Normand Lacombe, John Scott, and Rob Ray.
Lacombe was the middle pick of a trio of first-rounders selected by the Sabres in 1983 and was the least successful of the three. In three seasons, the winger was dealt to Edmonton for former Buffalo first-rounder Lee Fogolin, and won a Cup with the Oilers in 1988. Scott was a big-time enforcer in the NHL for seven clubs, and played 90 games over two seasons, compiling 194 penalty minutes. Ray played 14 of his 15 seasons with the Sabres, and is the team’s career penalty minute leader with 3207.
