The Buffalo Sabres are in their 56th season and have a storied history. The club has 15 players who have been inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame, and many others who deserve recognition. Over the next few weeks, we will be looking at players in Sabres history by their jersey number, ranking the top three players to wear that particular number.
The top three who wore #37 in team history are: Curtis Brown and Casey Mittlestadt
Brown was a second-round pick of the Sabres in 1994, who made his NHL debut as an 18-year-old in 1995, won a Calder Cup with Rochester the following year, and became a full-time NHLer in 1997. Brown played eight seasons and scored in double figures six times. Mittelstadt was Buffalo’s first-rounder in 2017 and joined the club after his freshman season at the University of Minnesota. In six seasons with the Sabres, he scored in double figures four times before being traded to Colorado in 2024 for Bowen Byram.
