Who Is the Sabres All-Time best player to wear #5?

The Buffalo Sabres are in their 56th season and have a storied history. The club has 15 players who have been inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame, and many others who deserve recognition. Over the next few weeks, we will be looking at players in Sabres history by their jersey number, ranking the top three players to wear that particular number. 

The top three who wore #5 in team history are all defensemen:  Mike Ramsey, Lee Fogolin, and Jason Woolley

Ramsey was a first-round pick in 1979 and a member of the famed Miracle on Ice 1980 US Olympic gold medal-winning squad. He played 12 seasons in Buffalo and is considered one of the best defensive defenseman in club history. Fogolin was a 1974 first-round pick and played on the 1975 Cup final. He was claimed by Edmonton in the 1979 expansion draft and won two Cups with the Oilers. Woolley was part of the 1999 Cup final squad and scored an overtime goal in Game 1 against Dallas.
