The Buffalo Sabres are in their 56th season and have a storied history. The club has 15 players who have been inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame, and many others who deserve recognition. Over the next few weeks, we will be looking at players in Sabres history by their jersey number, ranking the top two players to wear that particular number. Since less players have worn higher numbers in the club’s history, we will look at a range of numbers.

The top two who wore #57 through 61 in team history are: Tyler Myers and Maxim Afinogenov.

A 12th overall pick in 2008, Myers debuted in the NHL at age 19 and had his best season, scoring 48 points (11 goals, 37 assists) and winning the Calder Trophy as rookie of the year. The big righty never repeated those offensive totals in five seasons with the Sabres and was sent to Winnipeg as part of the Evander Kane deal in 2015. Afinogenov debuted with Buffalo in 1999 and played nine of his 10 seasons with the Sabres, scoring 20 or more goals three times and a career-high 73 points in 2006 when Buffalo reached the Eastern Conference Final.
