In their last deep run in the Stanley Cup Playoffs, May 4th was not an occasion for a Darth Vader bobblehead giveaway, it was the night of a dramatic overtime victory by the Buffalo Sabres, who advanced to their second straight Eastern Conference Final with a win over the New York Rangers.

Late in the third period, Buffalo's Chris Drury tied the game to force overtime and Maxim Afinogenov scored the series-clincher in overtime. The Sabres went on to play Ottawa and lost to the Senators in five games.

Ironically, Drury left the Sabres via free agency that summer and signed a long-term deal with the Rangers.

The Sabres power play went 1 for 24 in their first round series vs. Boston, can they go any further with an anemic power play?
