The Buffalo Sabres have acquired Josh Norris and Jacob Bernard-Docker from the Ottawa Senators in exchange for Dylan Cozens, Dennis Gilbert, and a 2026 second-round pick.
It's no secret that both Cozens and Norris have been in the rumor mill this season, and now both players are getting a much-needed change of scenery.
Cozens, 24, has appeared in 61 games this season with the Sabres, where he has 11 goals, 31 points, and 148 hits. In 341 games over five seasons with the Sabres, he had 77 goals, 197 points, and a minus-54 rating.
Norris, on the other hand, has 20 goals, 33 points, and 133 hits in 53 games this campaign. The 25-year-old forward will be more than a rental for the Sabres, as he has a $7.95 million cap hit until the end of the 2029-30 season. He should be a key part of the Sabres' top six moving forward.
Bernard-Docker is a former first-round pick who is still looking to break out at the NHL level. In 25 games this season, he has one goal, four points, and a plus-2 rating. This is after he set career highs with four goals, 10 assists, and 14 points in 72 games last season.
