The Buffalo Sabres made a pair of roster moves on Wednesday prior to departing for St. Louis and provided updates on injured forwards Tage Thompson and Jack Quinn. After sending goalie Devon Levi to the Rochester Americans, the club recalled winger Brandon Biro.
Biro had two goals in two games before being placed on injured reserve in early November and has 12 points (6 goals, 6 assists) in 10 games for the Amerks.
The club activated winger Jordan Greenway and returned forward Jiri Kulich to Rochester after being emergency recalled last week. Greenway missed three games due to personal reasons, and Kulich went scoreless in two games with the Sabres.
Sabres GM Kevyn Adams also provided updates on Thompson, who suffered a hand injury blocking a shot against Boston on November 14, and Quinn who is rehabbing an Achilles injury that occurred during off-season training in late June.
Thompson was recently re-imaged to check on the healing process and Adams said that he hopes that last year’s leading scorer will be back sooner rather than later, but said that he is still a way’s away. Quinn travelled with the club and took to the ice with the club’s training staff and Adams indicated that his timeline could see him return early in the New Year.
