Sabres Injury Update - Tuch, Greenway, Quinn The Buffalo Sabres have had an injury-riddled season with key contributors Tage Thompson, Jeff Skinner, and Alex Tuch all missing significant time. Head coach Don Granato provided an injury update after practice on Monday and indicated that injured winger Jack Quinn could make his first start of the season against Columbus on Tuesday. Quinn suffered an Achilles injury in off-season training in late June and was expected to be out until early January, so his return is slightly ahead of schedule. "The target originally was about this timeframe, and then you go through all the progressions, which he went through at a pretty good pace. The last progression would be full go, physicality (and) battle, and we actually gave him extra days of that." Granato said. "Today was a real good test for him, in a way we weren't able to test him much in the last month, and he was really good with it." Quinn, who had 37 points (14 goals, 23 assists) in 75 games as a rookie, skated in place of Tuch on the top-line unit with rookie Zach Benson and Tage Thompson, but Granato indicated that the 22-year-old might get eased back into the lineup and not be burdened with major minutes at the outset, which would indicate playing on a lower line against the Blue Jackets. Tuch did not skate at Key Bank Center on Monday, but Granato said he believes the veteran winger will be in the lineup on Tuesday. Winger Jordan Greenway did participate, but he and the head coach were hesitant to say when he would be ready for game action.
