The Buffalo Sabres are currently second in the Atlantic Division standings with a 35-19-6 record and 76 points. With this, there is a clear expectation that the Sabres will be buyers at the 2026 NHL trade deadline. The Sabres are in a position to make some moves and should be looking to address a few roster needs because of it. However, if the Sabres want to make a notable move, former first-round pick Isak Rosen stands out as a potential prospect that Buffalo could use as a part of a trade package. The Sabres have several skilled wingers, so it is fair to wonder if they could be willing to part ways with Rosen if it helps them land an NHL player who would help them immediately. The 22-year-old forward could generate interest from selling teams, too, as he has decent upside. Rosen's strong 2025-26 season in the AHL with the Rochester Americans also could add to his appeal. In 36 games this season with the Amerks, the 2021 first-round pick has recorded 25 goals, 43 points, and a plus-1 rating. He has also had some success when called up to the Sabres' roster this season, as he has set new career highs with three goals, four assists, and seven points in 16 games. It will be interesting to see what the Sabres end up doing with Rosen ahead of the deadline, but he could be an under-the-radar trade candidate to watch.
