On the final day of the 4 Nations Face-off, Sweden will wrap up their schedule with a game against the United States at TD Garden in Boston, MA.
After losing to Canada and Finland in overtime, Sweden still has a shot at advancing to the championship game on Wednesday. On Monday morning, they made some roster adjustments, swapping out two Edmonton Oilers, Mattias Ekholm and Viktor Arvidsson, for Leo Carlsson (Anaheim) and Rasmus Andersson (Calgary).
Neither Carlsson nor Andersson has played in the tournament yet. Meanwhile, Ekholm has an assist and has averaged 17:47 in ice time in two games, while Arvidsson has no points and has only skated 9:48 a game.
The final day begins with Canada facing off against Finland. If either team wins in regulation, they advance to play against the United States in the championship. However, if that game goes to overtime and Sweden can pick up a regulation win, they could advance.
Regarding tonight's United States lineup changes, Charlie McAvoy will not play in front of his hometown crowd. Former Calgary Flames forward Matthew Tkachuk will also sit out to rest for Wednesday's contest.
