The Calgary Flames (26-19-7) begin a three-game homestand with some competitive teams coming to the Saddledome, starting with the Toronto Maple Leafs (31-19-2) on Tuesday night.

Tonight is the first meeting between the two Canadian franchises this season. The Maple Leafs are on a four-game win streak against the Flames, with Calgary last defeating their Original Six rivals on Apr. 13, 2021.

Calgary is 5-5-0 in its last ten outings, last defeating the Seattle Kraken 3-2 on the road Sunday night. Moreover, the Flames are 16-8-3 at the Saddledome this season.

Meanwhile, Toronto is 4-6-0 in their last ten games, including a thrilling 4-3 victory over the Edmonton Oilers on Saturday night to kick off their Western Canada road trip.

Between the Pipes

Reigning Rookie of the Month Dustin Wolf is back between the pipes, looking to collect his 20th win and 14th home victory this season.

Tuesday night will mark Wolf's first contest against the Maple Leafs, the last Original Six franchise he has played against in his young career. He is 3-1-2 against the five other teams: Boston, Chicago, Detroit, Montreal, and New York.

The visitors are starting Joseph Woll, who is making his 29th appearance this season. He's compiled an 18-10-0 record with one shutout, 2.66 GAA, and .909 SV%.

In previous contests against the Flames, Woll is undefeated, 2-0-0, with a 2.40 GAA and .907 SV%, giving up just five goals, including a shorthanded tally.

Conversation Starters

  • Joel Farabee will play his third game with the Flames on Tuesday and has yet to light the lamp. He's still adjusting to a new team and system but has looked good in his first two appearances. Can he break through tonight and become the 462nd player to score in red?
  • Wolf has given up the first goal in three straight starts. The Flames are 1-2-0 in those games, so can the rookie phenom halt that streak in a critical matchup against a top Eastern Conference team?
  • Nazem Kadri was a first-round pick of the Maple Leafs (2009) and has nine points (4G, 5A) against his former team. Since joining the Flames, he's picked up a point in three of the four games against Toronto and is on a two-game point streak. Can he extend it on Tuesday?
