    Lucic, who spent four season with Calgary, has been sidelined since late October due to injury

    Former Calgary Flames forward Milan Lucic is taking an indefinite leave of absence from the Boston Bruins after in an undisclosed incident Friday night.

    The Bruins, with whom Lucic signed this past summer, made the announcement Saturday morning.

    The team stated: “The organization takes these matters very seriously and will work with the Lucic family to provide any support and assistance they may need. We will have no further comment at this time."

    Lucic, 35, has played more than 1,300 games with the Bruins, Los Angeles Kings, Edmonton Oilers and Flames. He returned to Boston after signing a one-year contract worth $1 million with $500,000 in potential bonuses.

    Lucic has not played since Oct. 21 due to injury. He collected two points in four games this season before being injured.

    He spent four seasons with the Flames — 2019-20 through 2022-23 — in which he collected 35 goals and 83 points in 283 games.
