Nazem Kadri collided with Blake Coleman and didn't return to practice.

Nazem Kadri left practice early on Friday after colliding with teammate Blake Coleman. Kadri immediately left the ice surface and went straight to the locker room. It appeared to be a knee-on-knee collision, which is forcing fans and the Flames organization to keep their fingers crossed.
If the Flames were to lose Kadri before the start of the regular season and he missed any games, it would be removing their top point producer from the 2023-24 season. Kadri had 75 points in 82 games last season, a career-high.
Kadri was one of the few forwards on the team being given any love by insiders and analysts to have a decent season for the Flames as they undergo a rebuild. There has been speculation surrounding Kadri that he might be open to a trade before the deadline if the Flames can get a solid return, but he's been openly public about saying he likes Calgary.
He recently told the media to "pump the brakes" on questions about his future with the team.
We'll have more and update the story as injury news is released. The hope is that his leaving practice was mostly precautionary and soreness, not a signal of a serious issue.
In other Flames news, the team has assigned defenceman Zayne Parekh to the Saginaw Spirit (OHL). Calgary now has six goalies, 16 defencemen, and 31 forwards in camp.
The Flames have a few injuries to report:
Kevin Bahl was skating for the first time after missing a week with a lower-body injury. Not skating, however, was Matt Coronato (lower body, day-to-day), Martin Pospisil (lower body, day-to-day), Jake Bean (lower body, day-to-day), and MacKenzie Weegar (maintenance).
