Another third-period comeback and the Calgary Flames are on a season-best four-game winning streak.

Thanks to goals from the usual suspects of late, Blake Coleman and Nazem Kadri, the Flames erased a two-goal deficit and claimed a 3-2 victory over the Arizona Coyotes when Yegor Sharangovich unloaded a laser of a top-corner shot with 16.7 seconds remaining in overtime in Tuesday’s curtain raiser of their six-game homestand.

With number-one goaltender Jacob Markstrom sidelined due to a lower-body injury suffered in Monday’s practice, Dan Vladar stepped in and delivered a 25-save performance that kept his team in the game after a couple of listless periods.

Coleman has netted five goals in a career-best four-game goal-scoring streak. He’s at 20 goals, two shy of his career high, and already matched his career best 38 points. Kadri, who netted one goal and one assist, has notched five goals and 10 points in a seven-game point streak.

The Flames have won seven games when trailing after two periods. Calgary last posted a five-game winning streak late in the 2021-22 season.

The Flames (21-18-5) are two points back of both the Edmonton Oilers and Nashville Predators, the clubs who currently hold the two wild-card positions.

Calgary returns to action Thursday when the Toronto Maple Leafs (21-13-8) visit.

Check back Wednesday morning for the takeaways.
