In addition to raising hundreds of thousands of dollars annually through various fundraising initiatives, the Flames Alumni [https://calgaryflamesalumni.com/] use the yearly toy drive as one of their marquee events. Several big names from the Flames' past, including Lanny McDonald and Joel Otto, were on hand over the holiday season to collect toys at various locations, including the Saddledome. Although there are no details on how many toys were collected in 2024, the final numbers don't matter since it's all about getting toys into the hands of kids who don't have the same luxuries as so many.
