The Carolina Hurricanes will look to get back in the win column tonight as they take on the Vegas Golden Knights (29-12-3).
Carolina is on a two-game slide after dropping games to both the Anaheim Ducks and Buffalo Sabres.
While both losses are tough to swallow, the truth of the matter is that if the Canes just got average goaltending in both games, they'd probably be on a four-game win streak right now.
Alas, they're back to the basics of asking how they can get the ball rolling.
However, there is some good news on that front as Frederik Andersen was activated off of IR today. The 35-year-old veteran netminder has been out of action since October and had knee surgery in November.
He won't start tonight but his return could be big for Carolina.
Vegas is coming to town having lost 5-3 to the Nashville Predators on Tuesday.
The Golden Knights, who had been the hottest team a month ago, are in a small rut, having lost three of their last four, but the team is still just as dangerous as ever.
