The Carolina Hurricanes are beginning the traditional "Day with the Cup" for the team as each member of the organization will be given a day to spend with the Stanley Cup as they like.

The first member of the organization to be given that honor was goaltending coach Paul Schonfelder. 

The coach took the Cup back home to Ottawa, first stopping by the Ottawa Children's Hospital.

Another tradition is to eat/drink something special out of the Cup and Schonfelder opted to let his daughter choose the spot.

The result?

A Cup full of ice cream.
