After not being qualified by the Carolina Hurricanes, defenseman Domenick Fensore has signed a one-year deal with the Colorado Avalanche.

The 24-year-old blueliner had 83 points in 166 AHL games across three seasons and appeared in three NHL games for the Hurricanes across two seasons.

The deal will pay Fensore $850,000 at the NHL level and $250,000 at the AHL level.
