The Carolina Hurricanes have selected Russian goaltender Semyon Frolov with their first pick of the 2025 draft, 41st overall.
The Canes traded back in the draft twice before finally settling on Frolov, a 6-foot-3 goaltender with strong MHL numbers.
Frolov, 18, had a 16-7-3 record last season with a 0.921 save percentage last season.
He was ranked 92nd overall in THN's Top 100 prospects.
"Big stopper plays with poise and has good athleticism. Put up solid numbers in junior, especially in the playoffs. Don’t be surprised if he gets KHL time soon."
