The Carolina Hurricanes have selected yet another Russian, and a Russian defenseman at that, taking Roman Bausov with the 87th overall pick.
Bausov, 18, is a big boy, standing at 6-foot-5, but still needs to fill out his frame as he was weighs in at just 190 pounds.
The blueliner appeared in 41 MHL games this season with MHK Dynamo St. Petersburg, posting two goals and 11 points.
The Canes have built up quite the collection of Russian defensemen over the last two years: 2024 - Roman Shokhrin, Timur Kol, Alexander Siryatsky; 2025 - Kurban Limatov, Bausov.
