Since becoming a head coach in 2018, Rod Brind'Amour has been considered one of the NHL's best year in and year out
Not just for the high level that his teams consistently play at, but also for how much of a genuine, player-focused coach he is.
Brind'Amour took home the Jack Adams as the league's best coach in the abbreviated 2021 season, the same year the Hurricanes won their first of three straight division titles and finished just two points shy of the Presidents' Trophy.
While Brind'Amour has been in the conversation for the award every year following, he surprisingly hasn't been a finalist since despite Carolina's continued upward trajectory.
However, perhaps this will be the season that Coach Brind'Amour is a finalist again.
While the THN team sites didn't choose him to be the outright winner - that honor went to Don Granato with eight of the 34 votes as many of the writers also saw the Sabres as this year's breakout team - Brind'Amour still collected the second most votes with six.
