The Hockey News Wraparound Show discuses the 2020 NHL Draft class. The Carolina Hurricanes will be without one of their top forward for at least a few more games as the team announced that they have placed Seth Jarvis on injured reserve retroactive to Nov. 10. Jarvis has missed the last two games for the Canes, being out of the lineup since Nov. 11, and after missing the team's practice on Friday too, he's now projected to be out for the upcoming weekend back-to-back as well. "I was expecting, maybe, to see him out there in the next few days, but probably unlikely now," said Hurricanes coach Rod Brind'Amour. "I think maybe next week we'll get him out there." While an IR designation doesn't save any cap space it does however open up a roster spot. The NHL has a hard limit of 23 players on an active roster at any one time. A player who is placed on IR is also ineligible to play for at least seven days, so this rules Jarvis out for the weekend, but allows him to potentially return next week. Jarvis, 22, has four goals and 11 points in 13 games this season and had been playing well overall. However, the young forward had been noticeably playing through an injury, being seen on multiple occasions holding his arm/upper-body area and talking with the team's medical staff on the bench in between shifts. Word from the team is that he could probably play, but they're just going to be precautionary with him. "He wants to play," Brind'Amour said. "He's old school in that way, that's for sure. You have to kind of yank him out of the lineup. But like I said, hopefully that won't be too long." The loss of Jarvis is definitely a tough blow, being that he plays significant minutes in nearly every situation, but with Carolina playing such a strong team game as of late, the loss shouldn't be too impactful overall.
