There was one major positive to come out of Mikko Rantanen three-way trade between the Colorado Avalanche and Chicago Blackhawks for the Carolina Hurricanes.

While Rantanen’s stint with the Hurricanes ended in disaster, the team still received Taylor Hall as part of this big-time deal.

Since 2020, Hall has played for five different teams, as he hasn't been able to find a consistent home.

Finally, Hall found a place where he could settle down. Playing for the Hurricanes, Hall feels comfortable, and it’s an environment where he could thrive.

That’s why the 33-year-old forward signed a three-year, $9.5 million contract extension with the Hurricanes in April.

"Now that I have a family, it's important to be somewhere where I'm comfortable," Hall said in April. "This team, from the moment I got here, made me feel comfortable, the coaching staff pushed me. The guys in the room have been incredible at making me feel welcome, making me feel like this is a place I want to be. I feel very fortunate to be a Hurricane, and I can't wait for what the future holds for us."

In 31 games for the Hurricanes, Hall recorded nine goals, nine assists, and 18 points while averaging 15:27 minutes per game.
