Bedard has been stellar for the Blackhawks as of late and he's only going to keep getting better.

Connor Bedard is playing much better over the past two weeks and a big reason for that is more offensive freedom and stability with head coach Anders Sorensen.

At 19 years old, Bedard now has nine goals and 30 points in 35 games for the Chicago Blackhawks. He has four goals and 11 points in his last nine games played. Three of those have been multi-point games and four of his points in that time have come on the power play.

This started the game that Sorensen took over. Bedard is playing confidently in all aspects of the game and that will continue to increase with the more success that comes.

It is never a bad time to get hot, but better earlier than later this season so that there's more confidence in Bedard and the team heading into next season. The Blackhawks are also technically not out of the race and I guarantee the players believe they can still make a comeback. They are far from mathematically eliminated.

Many second year players experience a sophomore slump and Bedard was one of them. The difference here is that as an elite talent and still just a teenager, he already seemed to have broken the slump by his standards and is improving quickly.

Bedard is now on pace to finish this season with 21 goals and 70 points, but if we take his production and scoring pace since Sorensen took over nine games ago and apply it to the final 47 games of the season, Bedard is set to finish with 30 goals and 87 points in 82 games.

Bedard is a superstar in the making and he shouldn't be expected to be one of the league leaders in goals and points at 19 years old on a rebuilding team. His play is very encouraging and it will be interesting to see his totals at the end of the season.
