Postseason "Make-Believes Forever" — at least since 1967 — Toronto may be willing to part with some players who might help Chicago. Blackhawks GM Kyle Davidson may have the cap space and interest.

The Toronto Maple Leafs failed again in the playoffs on Saturday night.
Boston's David Pastrnak outsmarted and outraced Toronto defenseman Morgan Rielly to a loose puck of a Hampus Lindholm dump-in, then scored the game-winning goal at 1:54 of overtime in Game Seven.
Boston won a terrific elimination game 2-1 and advanced to play Florida. The well-supported, deep-pocketed Maple Leafs go home early.
It's simply not working in Toronto.
So who's available? Mitch Marner has one year left on his contract, but the Leafs might want to unload the forward and his $10.9 annual salary.
Several of Toronto's UFA's might interest Chicago. A lot depends on what the players want at this point in their careers, and what salary and terms the Blackhawks would be willing to offer.
They wouldn't win with the Blackhawks right away.
The Blackhawks have ample room to maneuver under the salary cap, for now. But Connor Bedard, Kevin Korchinski and other emerging young core stars will be in line for new contracts and big raises over the next two seasons.

And if Chicago wins Tuesday's draft lottery and the right to select Macklin Celebrini? That would change the calculus too.
But some Leafs UFA's might help the Blackhawks as they progress in their rebuild. Consider:
Tyler Bertuzzi. The rugged 29-year-forward is wrapping up a $5.5 million AAV contract and a season when he scored 21 goal and 43 points.

Max Domi. The Blackhawks unloaded the honest forward in 2023, sending him to Dallas in a trade deadline deal. The 29-year-old Port Credit, Ontario kid (He has the Port Credit lighthouse tattooed on his arm.) may not want to leave the GTA, but Domi is the kind of "identity piece" some Blackhawks leaders want to support Bedard and other kids.
Domi's contract paid him $3 million last season.
Joel Edmundson: The 31-year-old defenseman provided a solid veteran stay-at-home presence for the Leafs. The 6-foot-5, 30-year-old would be an upgrade from Jarred Tinordi or Jaycob Megna, who are Chicago UFA's. Edmundson is coming off the final season of a four-year $3.5 AAV contract he signed while with Montréal.
