Depleted Chicago's injury woes mount after losing three forwards in three games.

The Chicago Blackhawks placed forward Anthony Beauvillier on injured reserve Wednesday with a left wrist injury and claimed journeyman defenseman Jaycob Megna off waivers from the Seattle Kraken.

Beauvillier became the third Chicago top-9 forward to be hurt in three games on Tuesday night in Nashville. The 26-year-old was clipped by Filip Forsberg in the corner midway through the second period. Beauvillier grasped his left wrist and skated straight off the ice to the dressing room.
Forward Tyler Johnson sustained a right foot injury late in the first period of an 8-1 drubbing at Dallas on New Year's Eve and was placed on IR. Winger Taylor Raddysh, one of only two 20-goal scorers on Chicago last season, went on on IR after suffering a groin injury in his first shift at Dallas on Dec. 29.
Also out for Chicago are forward Andreas Athanasiou (groin), the Blackhawks' other 20-goal scorer last season, forward Joey Anderson (lower body) and top defenseman Seth Jones (shoulder).
Former Hart Trophy winner Taylor Hall, acquired from Boston with Nick Foligno from Boston last June, was lost for the season after right ACL surgery in November.
Coach Luke Richardson can only chuckle about a lengthy casualty list on his team that's rebuilding around NHL top 2023 draft pick Connor Bedard. See video.
The 26-year-old Beauvillier came to Chicago in a trade from Vancouver on Nov. 28, just hours after the Blackhawks released veteran Corey Perry for violating team policies. The Canucks unloaded Beauvillier's $4.15 million annual salary in the final season of a three-year contract.

Beauvillier, a first-round draft pick (28th overall, New York Islanders) in 2015, has two goals and four assists in 15 games with Chicago.
Megna, 31,has bounced between the NHL and AHL starting in 2013-14. From Plantation, Florida, the 6-foot-6, 220-pound Megna was drafted by Anaheim in the seventh round, 210th overall in 2012.
Megna has played a total of 141 NHL games with Anaheim, San Jose and Seattle.

This season, he has skated in just two AHL games with Coachella Valley. Megna appeared in 54 NHL games in 2022-23 with San Jose and Seattle, posting a goal and 11 assists.
Megna's brother, 33-year-old Jayson, is a center who also has shuttled between the NHL and AHL. He currently skates for AHL Providence Bruins.
