The Chicago Blackhawks should be looking to improve their forward group this off-season. One of their needs is another proven forward who can fit into their top nine. When looking at this year's pending unrestricted free agents (UFAs), Columbus Blue Jackets forward Mason Marchment stands out as a solid potential option for the Blackhawks to consider. Marchment is one of the NHL's top pending UFA forwards and is coming off a strong 2025-26 season. In 68 games split between the Seattle Kraken and Blue Jackets, the 6-foot-5 forward posted 19 goals, 26 assists, 45 points, and 84 hits. However, he also notably heated up after being traded to Columbus, as he posted 15 goals and 32 points in 39 games for the Metropoltian Division club. With Marchment being an impactful power forward who contributes offensively and provides some grit, he would have the potential to be a solid pickup for a Blackhawks club that is looking to be better in 2026-27. However, with Marchment being one of the top forwards who can hit the market on July 1, there is no question that he would generate a lot of interest if he tests free agency. It will be interesting to see where he ends up landing, but the Blackhawks stand out as an intriguing potential landing spot for him.
