With his new potential linemates, Connor Bedard is due for another historic year. Through the start of training camp, Bedard has been playing on a line alongside Taylor Hall and Tyler Bertuzzi. Hall and Bertuzzi have the potential to elevate Bedard’s game to a whole new level and transform him into a superstar. The Chicago Blackhawks acquired Hall in the summer of 2023 in a trade with the Boston Bruins. Being the first overall pick back in 2010 and Hart Trophy winner in 2018, Hall has an impressive resume to say the least. He may be getting a little older now, but Hall has proven to still be an offensive threat and productive player when healthy. Blackhawks rookie Connor Bedard on playing for the NHL's dead-last team. The 32-year-old basically missed the entire 2023-24 season with a knee injury and now he is back ready to go after months of recovery. If Hall could even return even close to the player who won the Hart Trophy with the Devils, that would be critical in furthering Bedard’s development. Meanwhile, Bertuzzi is not only a skilled offensive talent, but also a physical player who’s never afraid to get his hands dirty. Coming from the Toronto Maple Leafs, Bertuzzi showed a tremendous amount of grit and passion when he was on the ice. The 29-year-old produced 43 points while also serving as sort of an enforcer and in a protector role that was valuable for the Maple Leafs. Alongside Bedard, Bertuzzi could be the young phenom’s personal bodyguard while on the ice to send a message that nobody can mess with Bedard without having to deal with Bertuzzi. These three players are perfect for each other and will make for a highly explosive line.
