With reports that both Mason Marchment and Jason Robertson of the Dallas Stars were on the trade block this summer, it seems one of those was true. Dallas and the Seattle Kraken announced today that a trade was completed between the two teams, sending Marchment to Seattle in return for a 4th round pick in the 2025 NHL Draft and a 3rd round pick in the 2026 NHL Draft.
As a member of the Stars, Marchment tallied 5 total points in the seven-game series against Colorado Avalanche in the first round of this year's playoffs. He carries a $4.5 million cap hit with one year left on his contract, where he'll become a free agent (if not re-signed) after the 2025-26 season.
